Buddhism, Language and Cultural School- May 17

About the Buddhism, Language and Cultural School
The Buddhism, Language and Cultural School conducted by Palmy Buddhist Vihara is a vibrant and welcoming place where younger children come together every Sunday to learn the timeless teachings of the Buddha. Currently, the sessions are held at the Multicultural Centre in Palmerston North from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.
The sessions are thoughtfully designed to help young learners understand Buddhist values such as loving-kindness, compassion, mindfulness, and respect. Through stories, discussions, chanting, crafts, and interactive activities, children gain practical guidance on how to apply Dhamma principles in their daily lives.
After the Dhamma School session, there is a break where parents and volunteers kindly organise finger food for the children to enjoy. This is a special time for socialising and building friendships.
Following the break, from 10:45 am to 11:45 am, students also have the opportunity to attend Sinhala language classes, further connecting them with their cultural heritage.
The Buddhism. Language and Cultural School plays a meaningful role in keeping Buddhist teachings and Sri Lankan traditions alive for the younger generation in New Zealand. Everyone is warmly welcome to join this journey of learning and spiritual enrichment.
